Custom Dress Manufacturing for Fashion Brands

When we receive a new dress design, we check the construction before working out the price. Fabric, lining, measurements, seam details, trims and finishing all affect how the garment will be made and what it will cost.

If something may cause a problem with fit, fabric, construction or production cost, we discuss it during sampling. It is much easier to change a pattern or sewing detail before bulk production than after the order has been cut.

We work with:

  • Fashion Startups
  • Emerging Clothing Brands
  • Fashion Designers
  • Boutique Owners
  • Retailers
  • Wholesalers
  • Buying Teams
  • Private Label Companies

How to Start Your Custom Dress Project

We work with fashion brands, wholesalers and retailers on OEM and ODM dress orders. The production process starts with your design information and moves through sampling before the bulk order is released.

1. Send Us the Design Details

Send your tech pack, sketch, reference sample, fabric information, measurements and order quantity. We check the information first and let you know if anything needs clarification before sampling.

2. Check the Cost and Production Details

We calculate the price from the actual fabric, construction, quantity, trims, finishing and packaging requirements. If needed, we can also check alternative fabrics and confirm the MOQ and expected production schedule.

3. Develop and Approve the Sample

The first sample is used to check fit, measurements, fabric, construction and workmanship. You can send fitting comments or required changes. Our pattern team then adjusts the pattern or construction details before the sample is approved.

4. Move Into Bulk Production

Once the sample, fabric and production details are confirmed, the order moves into cutting and sewing. QC checks the garments during production, followed by finishing, final inspection and packing before shipment.

OEM Dress Manufacturing

If you already have a finished design, you can send it to us through our OEM clothing manufacturer service.

Useful production information includes:

  • Tech Pack
  • Measurements
  • BOM
  • Sketches
  • Reference Samples
  • Fabric Specifications
  • Trim Requirements
  • Label Details

Our pattern and sample team checks these details before making the first sample. If we find a measurement conflict, unclear construction detail or material issue, we discuss it with you before production.

For technical styles, clear measurements and construction details usually mean fewer changes during sampling and bulk production.

Our Dress Factory & Production Capacity

Factory Picture Reception
Factory Picture Cutting Room

We have a 5,000 square meter garment production facility, with 750 skilled employees and 5 automatic cutting lines.

We develop over 100 new dress styles each month, including maxi, midi and mini dresses. These styles cover different lengths, fabrics and construction details for different customer requirements.

Looking for a custom dress manufacturer? Send us your requirements and we can provide our latest product catalog and available fabric options.

Dress Manufacturing Capabilities

We handle the main production stages in-house, from fabric preparation to finished garments.

Fabric Sourcing

You can specify the fabric you already use, or send us a reference fabric. We check weight, width, hand feel, drape, stretch and color before confirming the production material. For silk dresses, for example, different silk weights and constructions can be used depending on the required drape and finished look.

Pattern Making & Sample Development

Your measurements and construction details are checked before the pattern is made. During sampling, we look at fit, balance, seam placement, lining, closures and finishing. A dress may look right on a hanger but still need changes when it is tried on.

Cutting

Before cutting, fabric is checked for defects, shade variation, width and grain direction. Printed or patterned fabrics also need placement control so the panels are cut in the correct position.

Sewing & Construction

The sewing method depends on the style. Pleats, gathers, ruching, shirring, lining, invisible zippers, boning and adjustable straps all require different handling on the sewing line. These points are checked during sampling so the production team has a clear construction reference for bulk production.

Finishing

After sewing, loose threads are trimmed and garments are pressed. Measurements, labels, closures and other finishing details are checked before the garments move to final inspection.

Dress Fabric Options

You can send us a fabric you already use, or we can source options based on the dress design, required hand feel and target cost.

Common Fabrics We Work With:
  • Mulberry Silk
  • Silk Satin
  • Silk Blends
  • Velvet
  • Satin
  • Chiffon
  • Cotton
  • Linen
  • Jersey
  • Recycled Fabrics

Fabric choice affects how the dress is cut and sewn. Weight, drape, stretch, shrinkage, lining and fabric consumption can all affect the fit, cutting plan and final cost.

For a new style, we can check several suitable fabrics before the bulk material is ordered. This allows you to compare the hand feel, appearance and cost before committing to the production fabric.

Our Dress Manufacturing Process

Every style is checked at several points before it reaches bulk production. The exact process depends on the fabric and construction, but a typical dress order follows these steps.

01. Design Review

Send us your tech pack, sketch, reference garment, or photos. We first check the measurements, construction details, fabric requirements, and trims needed for the style.

02. Fabric & Trim Sourcing

We source the main fabric, lining, zippers, buttons, labels, and other trims based on your specifications. If you do not have a fixed fabric, we can provide suitable options for comparison.

03. Pattern Making

Our pattern team develops the pattern from the approved measurements and construction details. For more complicated styles, we check the fit and construction points carefully before making the sample.

04. Sample Development

The first sample is made to check the overall shape, fit, fabric, sewing details, and finishing. Any points that need adjustment can be discussed at this stage.

05. Sample Approval

You review the sample and send us your fitting comments or required changes. We update the pattern or construction details before the style is released for bulk production.

06. Fabric Inspection

Before bulk cutting, production fabric is checked for shade, width, surface defects, shrinkage, and other issues that may affect the finished garments.

07. Cutting

Once the fabric and pattern are approved, the fabric is spread and cut according to the production marker. For printed or directional fabrics, placement and grain direction are checked during cutting.

08. Sewing

The cut panels are assembled according to the approved sample and construction details. Sewing operations can vary depending on the style, such as pleating, ruching, lining, zippers, boning, or adjustable straps.

09. In-Line QC

Garments are checked during sewing rather than waiting until the end of production. We check measurements, stitching, seam construction, and workmanship as the pieces move through the line.

10. Finishing & Pressing

After sewing, loose threads are trimmed and the garments are pressed. Labels, closures, and other finishing details are checked before the garments move to final inspection.

11. Final Inspection

Finished dresses are checked against the approved sample and production requirements. Measurements, workmanship, appearance, pressing, and other specified details are reviewed before packing.

12. Packing & Shipment

Approved garments are folded, packed, labeled, and carton-packed according to your requirements. Carton quantities and shipping marks are checked before the order is prepared for shipment.

Quality Control During Dress Production

We check garments during production instead of waiting until the order is finished.

For new styles, it is easier to correct a problem on the sewing line than after the whole order is finished. That is why QC checks are carried out at several stages.

T01 Fabric Testing & Inspection
Fabric Testing & Inspection

Fabric rolls are checked before cutting for GSM, shade, shrinkage, colorfastness and surface defects.

T02 Final Garment Inspection
Pre-Production Sample Inspection

Before bulk production starts, we check the approved sample, pattern, trims, labels and production specifications with the production team. If something does not match the approved version, it is corrected before cutting begins.

T03 In-Line Production Inspection
In-Line Production Inspection

Our in-line QC team checks stitching, garment measurements, seam construction and workmanship during production. If we find a sewing or measurement problem, the pieces are pulled aside and corrected before they move to the next operation.

T04 Pre-Production Sample Inspection
Final Garment Inspection

Every garment goes through final AQL inspection. We check measurements, workmanship, stitching, pressing, labels, thread trimming and overall appearance against the approved sample and order requirements. Approved pieces are then released for packing.

T05 Packaging Inspection
Packaging Inspection

We check labels, barcodes, carton markings and quantities before packing. Cartons are checked against the packing list before the order leaves the factory.

Key Benefits of Working With Our Dress Manufacturer

With over 18 years of garment manufacturing experience, we work with fashion brands on product development and bulk production. Our team supports pattern making, fabric selection, sample development, fitting adjustments, and production based on each project’s requirements.

If you have a tech pack or finished design, we can develop the garment according to your specifications. If you only have a reference sample, photo, or initial idea, we can review the details with you and develop the sample before production. Once the sample is confirmed, we follow the approved specifications throughout the production process.

Our MOQ starts from around 50 pieces per style, depending on the fabric choice, construction details, and order requirements. This works well for brands that want to test a new style or build an initial collection with lower risk.

Before production, we review the fabric, colors, size breakdown, labels, and other details to make sure everything is confirmed. For repeat orders, we can discuss quantity adjustments based on your actual sales and stock situation.

Our design and pattern team works with customers on new styles from the first sketch or reference. If you already have a clear design, we can develop the pattern and sample from your specifications. If you only have a photo or basic idea, we can discuss the construction, fabric, and fit before making the first sample.

We also keep customer designs and production information confidential. Your tech packs, samples, patterns, and other project details are handled as private production information and are not shared with other customers.

We manage the key production steps in our factory, from fabric sourcing and pattern making to cutting, sewing, finishing, and final inspection. Handling these processes closely allows us to keep better control of quality, production details, and costs.

Our quotations are based on the actual fabric, construction, quantity, and finishing requirements of each style. For repeat or larger orders, we review the production details with you and look for practical ways to improve efficiency and control costs.

Each fabric roll is inspected by our QC team before entering production. We check color differences, weaving defects, stains, and fabric condition to make sure materials meet production requirements for OEM & ODM orders. Dress Manufacturing Categories

Looking for a specific type of dress? Browse our manufacturing pages below to see the fabrics, construction details, sampling options, and production support available for each style.

What is your MOQ for custom dress manufacturing?

Our usual MOQ is 50–100 pieces per style and color. It can vary depending on the fabric, number of colors, and how the dress is made. For a simpler style, we can sometimes work with a smaller run. Styles with more detailed sewing, pleats, lining, or special finishing usually need a higher quantity to make production worthwhile.

Can You Make Dresses From a Tech Pack?

Yes. Send us your tech pack with measurements, construction details, fabric specifications, and BOM. Our pattern and sample team will check the details before making the first sample. If we find a measurement conflict, construction issue, or something that may cause problems during sewing, we’ll flag it with you first and confirm the adjustment before production.

Can You Develop a Dress From a Reference Sample?

Yes. You can send us a physical sample, and our pattern team can check its measurements, fabric, construction, and workmanship. We’ll use it as a reference for the new pattern and sample, then confirm any changes needed for your fabric, size range, fit, or order quantity before bulk production.

How Long Does a Dress Sample Take?

Most samples are ready in 3–7 days once the fabric and main specifications are confirmed. More involved styles, such as those with pleating, embroidery, beading, or special fabric treatments, can take a little longer. After checking the design and fabric availability, we’ll confirm the sample timing before we start.

How Do You Control Dress Quality During Production?

We check the fabric before it goes to cutting, then follow the measurements, stitching, and construction as the dresses move through the sewing line. Finished garments are checked again before packing. If the QC colleague finds an issue along the way, we stop and correct it at the relevant stage instead of waiting until the final inspection.

Can You Produce Private Label Dresses?

Yes. We can make dresses with your own woven labels, care labels, hangtags, logo details, and packaging. Once the label files and packaging details are confirmed, they are followed during production and checked against the approved sample before packing. The finished garments can be prepared with your branding and retail packaging ready for shipment.

Can You Help Source the Fabric?

Yes. You can send us a fabric swatch, a reference garment, or simply tell us the weight and feel you’re looking for. We’ll check suitable fabrics with our suppliers and compare the composition, weight, drape, stretch, color, availability, and cost before the fabric is confirmed for production.

What Happens If the Sample Does Not Fit Correctly?

If the fit is off, send us your measurements, fitting comments, or marked-up photos. Our pattern team will check the problem and adjust the pattern or construction for the next sample. For a new style, we prefer to sort out the fit before bulk cutting starts, as changes are much easier to make at the sample stage.

How Do You Calculate the Production Price?

We work out the price from the actual specifications, including fabric consumption and cost, construction, sewing work, trims, lining, quantity, finishing, and packing. Two dresses can look similar but cost quite differently if the fabric weight, cutting, or construction is different. Once we have the details, we can calculate the costing based on the actual production requirements.
