Cotton Maxi Dress
Cotton maxi dresses are commonly requested for resortwear and summer collections, especially when brands need lightweight styles with more movement. During sampling, our pattern team mainly checks fabric drape, skirt volume, finished length, and whether the cotton fabric can support the intended silhouette.
Lightweight cotton can change shape during wear, so the pattern may need adjustments before bulk production.

Cotton Summer Dress
Cotton summer dresses require careful fabric selection before sampling. Different cotton qualities can affect thickness, transparency, shrinkage, and color consistency after washing.
These points are confirmed before cutting because fabric differences can affect the final measurement and appearance.

Cotton A-Line Dress
For cotton A-line dresses, the balance between the waist, skirt opening, and fabric structure determines the overall fit.
Our pattern team reviews your size chart, reference sample, or fitting comments during development and adjusts the pattern before the PP sample is approved.

Cotton Printed Dress
Cotton printed dresses require extra control during fabric preparation and cutting.
For custom prints, we check artwork placement, print scale, color results, and pattern matching before production. This process keeps print placement and finished garments closer to the approved sample.

Cotton Mini Dress
Cotton mini dresses are widely used for summer collections, boutiques, and casual fashion lines.
Small changes in waist height, hem length, or skirt volume can affect the overall proportion. During sampling, our team checks panel proportions, waist position, and hem shape before bulk production.

Cotton Midi Dress
Cotton midi dresses allow more design options in skirt volume, sleeves, and waist shaping.
Because the skirt area is longer, fabric drape becomes more noticeable. A cotton fabric that looks suitable on a swatch may create a different silhouette after the full garment is made.

Cotton Shirt Dress
Cotton poplin and structured cotton fabrics are commonly used for shirt dress development.
The construction requires attention to collar shape, placket alignment, cuff details, button spacing, and topstitching. Reference samples can be reviewed before pattern making and sampling.

Cotton Slip Dress
Cotton slip dresses look simple but require careful control of fit and fabric movement.
During development, we check strap width, neckline shape, bust fitting, side seams, hem length, and lining requirements to achieve the intended silhouette.
For softer styles, fabric drape is especially important because different cotton weights can change the final appearance.
Factory Certifications
Our factory holds BSCI, GOTS, ISO 9001 and OEKO-TEX certifications. The applicable certification depends on the product, fabric and production requirements, so we confirm the relevant documents when discussing an order.

Custom Cotton Dress Manufacturing Services
Cotton dress projects can start with different types of materials and information.
Some clients provide a complete tech pack with measurements and construction details. Others send a sketch, reference image, existing garment, or an early design idea.
During development, our team reviews:
- Fabric suitability
- Pattern structure
- Construction details
- Sampling requirements
- Production feasibility
Reviewing these points before sampling helps avoid changes later during production, especially for cotton fabrics that may change in shape or measurement after washing and finishing.

Private Label & Packaging Support
Brands can add their own branding elements to cotton dresses before bulk production, including labels, hangtags, and packaging.
Private label options include:
- Woven labels
- Care labels
- Hangtags
- Size labels
- Barcode stickers
- Custom packaging
These details are confirmed before production so finished garments can be packed according to your retail requirements.
Why Choose Us as Your Custom Cotton Dress Manufacturer?
Factory-Based Costing
As a direct cotton dress manufacturer, we calculate pricing around the actual production requirements of each style, including fabric, pattern complexity, cutting, sewing, finishing, and order quantity. This gives buyers a clearer cost structure before moving into sampling and bulk production.
Low MOQ for Selected Styles
For selected cotton dress styles, we can support MOQs starting from around 50–100 pieces per style and color. This can work for fashion startups, boutique collections, and brands testing a new cotton dress before placing larger production orders.
In-House Pattern & Sampling
Our pattern department and sample room handle pattern development, first samples, fit adjustments, and PP samples in-house. Cotton fabrics can shrink, soften, or behave differently after washing, so we check these details during development rather than relying only on the original sketch or measurements.
Cutting & Sewing Production
After the approved sample and specifications are confirmed, the style moves into our production process for bulk fabric inspection, cutting, sewing, finishing, and QC. Our factory has 500+ sewing machines and 5 automatic cutting lines for handling different cotton dress styles and order volumes.
Private Label Support
We can produce cotton dresses with your own woven or printed labels, size and care labels, hangtags, barcodes, and custom packaging. Custom sizes, colors, printing, embroidery, and other garment details can also be incorporated into the production specification.
Fabric Sourcing
If you do not have a confirmed cotton fabric supplier, our team can help source suitable materials such as poplin, voile, cotton-linen blends, stretch cotton, and twill. Fabric selection is reviewed alongside the dress design, required hand feel, weight, construction, and production requirements.

OEM & Private Label Cotton Dress Production Process
Developing a cotton dress collection involves multiple production stages. A clear production process helps both sides confirm details before bulk manufacturing begins.
1. Design & Requirement Review
Clients usually provide:
- Tech pack
- Sketch
- Reference photos
- Existing samples
Our team reviews measurements, construction details, fabric requirements, and production feasibility.
2. Fabric Sourcing & Confirmation
Cotton fabric selection affects the final fitting and appearance.
We review:
- Fabric composition
- Weight
- Color options
- Printing requirements
- Shrinkage considerations
3. Pattern Development & Sampling
Our sample room develops the first prototype based on your tech pack, sketch, or reference sample.
Our team includes experienced pattern makers and sample sewers who adjust the construction based on your feedback.
Sample development usually takes 3–7 days depending on design complexity.
4. Fit Revision & PP Sample Approval
Before bulk production, you can review the sample and provide fitting comments.
We adjust:
- Measurements
- Construction details
- Fabric handling
- Finishing requirements
Bulk production starts after the approved PP sample and fabric confirmation.
5. Bulk Production & Quality Control
During production, your cotton dresses go through:
- Fabric inspection
- Pre-shrinking when required
- Automatic cutting
- Sewing production
- In-line quality checks
- Final inspection
- Packing
QC checks focus on keeping bulk production consistent with the approved sample.
Cotton Fabrics We Work With
Cotton fabrics with different weights and structures create different dress silhouettes. Fabric selection is usually confirmed before sampling because it directly affects fitting and garment appearance.
| Cotton Fabric | Suitable Dress Applications | Production Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Cotton Poplin | Shirt dresses, A-line dresses | Shape retention, wrinkle control |
| Cotton Voile | Summer dresses, lightweight styles | Fabric handling, lining requirements |
| Cotton Linen Blend | Resort dresses, casual collections | Texture, shrinkage checking |
| Stretch Cotton | Fitted cotton dresses | Elastic recovery and fitting |
| Cotton Twill | Structured casual dresses | Fabric weight and construction |
If you already have fabric specifications, our team can check availability, suitability, and production considerations before sampling.
What to Check When Choosing Cotton Fabric for a Dress
Fabric Weight
Fabric weight affects the way your dress hangs and how much structure it has.
A lightweight cotton can work well for a loose summer dress, while a heavier cotton may be more appropriate when you want a stronger silhouette.
If you already have a target GSM in your tech pack, we can work from that specification. If not, the first sample can help determine whether the selected fabric gives the design the intended shape.
Shrinkage
Cotton shrinkage should be considered before finalizing garment measurements.
If the fabric changes after washing or finishing, the finished garment can move away from the approved measurements. This is particularly important for styles with strict length requirements.
During production, fabric inspection and pre-shrinking requirements can be reviewed before bulk cutting.
Fabric Width
Usable width matters when calculating fabric consumption.
A cotton maxi dress with a wide gathered skirt may use substantially more fabric than a simple fitted mini dress. If the usable width is limited, the cutting layout can also affect the final consumption.
This should be checked together with the final pattern rather than calculated from the fabric name alone.
Drape and Structure
Cotton does not automatically mean a soft or stiff garment.
A lightweight voile, cotton gauze, poplin, jersey, and sateen can produce very different silhouettes.
If you want a flowing dress, you should check whether the fabric has enough movement. If the design needs structure, the fabric should be able to hold the intended shape.
The first sample usually shows whether the fabric matches the intended design.
Inside Our Cotton Dress Manufacturing Factory
The workshop photos below show the main steps involved in our dress production, from fabric preparation and cutting to sewing, inspection, and packing.

 Fabric Warehouse
Fabric rolls are received and organized before production. For repeat production, keeping fabric and production records together helps maintain consistency when the same style is made again.
↓

Fabric Inspection
Fabric inspection is completed before cutting to identify issues such as shade variation, width differences, or surface defects. For cotton dresses, this can include checking color, width, defects, surface condition, and other relevant specifications.
↓

Fabric Pre-shrinking
Where required, the fabric is treated before cutting to help control shrinkage and finished measurements.
↓

Automatic Cutting
Approved patterns are transferred into the cutting process. The marker is reviewed before cutting to balance fabric use with the required pattern placement.
↓

Sewing Workshop
Cut panels are assembled according to the approved sample. Different cotton fabrics require different sewing handling, so the construction method is confirmed during development.
↓

In-line Inspection
QC checks key operations while garments are being produced. Measurement, seam quality, construction, and appearance can be reviewed before the garments reach final finishing.
↓

In-line Pressing
After sewing, garments are pressed during production to improve the shape, remove wrinkles, and ensure a neat finish before inspection. We review the pressing results and overall appearance to maintain consistent quality.
↓

Final Pressing
After sewing, garments are pressed and finished. The pressing method is adjusted according to the fabric and garment construction.
↓

Final Inspection
Finished garments are checked for measurements, sewing, appearance, labels, and other approved requirements.
↓

Garment Packing
Garments are folded and packed according to your requirements, including labels, hangtags, barcodes, polybags, cartons, and shipping marks where applicable.
↓

Finished Products
Finished garments are checked by style, color and size. Carton quantities, labels and packing details are verified before loading.
Cotton Dress Production Considerations
Your pattern needs to be developed around the actual fabric and intended fit.
For cotton dresses, we may review:
- Bust and waist measurements
- Ease
- Shoulder position
- Armhole depth
- Waist placement
- Skirt volume
- Hem circumference
- Finished length
If the fabric changes after the first sample, the pattern may also need adjustment.
A production sample fitting well in one size does not always mean every graded size will fit correctly.
When your size range is graded, the proportions of the garment change. This can affect:
- Armholes
- Sleeve width
- Waist position
- Bust shaping
- Skirt volume
- Hem circumference
For fitted or structured cotton styles, these changes deserve particular attention during grading.
The sewing method should match the cotton fabric.
For example, a structured poplin shirt dress may require more precise collar, placket, and topstitching work. A lightweight cotton gauze dress needs different handling at seams and edges.
We review the construction during sample development so that the sewing method used for bulk production is practical and repeatable.
Some cotton dresses can be made without lining, while others may need it because of fabric weight, transparency, structure, or the intended wearing experience.
This decision is usually confirmed during development because adding lining later may require pattern and cost adjustments.
Adding a lining can affect:
- Garment weight
- Fit
- Fabric consumption
- Sewing operations
- Production cost

As a custom dress manufacturer, we handle the main production steps in-house, from pattern making and sampling through cutting, sewing, finishing, and final inspection. Our team works from your tech pack, sample, sketch, or reference and checks the details before the style moves into bulk production.
Keeping these stages with one production team makes it easier to deal with pattern changes, sample revisions, and construction issues before cutting starts. We can also arrange screen printing and custom embroidery when these details are part of the design.

Have a Cotton Dress Project to Develop?
Send us your tech pack, sketch, reference photo, or existing sample. We can review the fabric, construction, measurements, MOQ, and production requirements before sampling.
If some details are not finalized, our team can review the available information and advise which points need confirmation before sampling.
Our usual MOQ is 50–100 pcs per style/color. If you are developing several styles, we can review the order structure together because fabric, trims, and color requirements may affect the practical production setup. For a startup collection, it is useful to confirm these details before finalizing the fabric order.
Sample development generally takes 3–7 days once the design information and required fabric are ready. A more complicated style may require additional development work. If you are working toward a launch date, send the design, fabric requirements, and target quantity early so the sampling schedule can be reviewed before production starts.
Yes. You can send sketches, product images, tech packs, or existing garments, and our team can review the construction details before sampling. We help check fabric choices, measurements, and production methods to turn your idea into a workable garment.
The fabric should be checked before the final cutting stage, particularly when the garment has strict length or measurement requirements. Where required, pre-shrinking is carried out before cutting. We also compare the finished sample measurements with the approved specifications so that fabric behavior is considered before bulk production.
Yes. We can support woven or printed labels, size labels, care labels, hangtags, barcodes, polybags, cartons, and other packaging requirements. You can provide your existing branding specifications, and these details can be confirmed together with the garment and PP sample before bulk production.
Yes. Custom size ranges and colors can be developed according to your collection requirements. For a new size range, the pattern and grading need to be reviewed rather than simply scaling the base size up or down. Color approval should also be confirmed against the actual fabric before bulk production.
We work with different cotton fabrics including cotton poplin, cotton voile, cotton linen blends, stretch cotton, and other cotton-based materials. If you have a specific fabric requirement, we can check sourcing options and confirm whether it fits your design before sampling.
