Since 2007, Xiuyu Apparel has developed and manufactured dresses for fashion brands, boutiques and wholesalers. Custom Floral Dress Manufacturing for Your Collection
If you are developing a new floral dress collection, you can start with a sketch, tech pack, reference garment or product image. We check the fabric, print artwork, measurements and construction details before the first pattern is made. The pattern and sewing method are then developed around the approved requirements.
A floral print can look different once it is cut into a bodice, sleeve or skirt panel. Print scale and placement can also affect the cutting layout, especially when several panels need to line up. Ruffles, gathers, fitted panels and special sleeves are checked on the sample rather than left to bulk production. Small pattern changes can also change the shape around fitted or gathered areas, so these points are settled during sample development.

Floral dresses are made in many different silhouettes, and the construction work is not the same for every style. A maxi dress needs attention to drape and finished length, while a bodycon dress brings more focus to stretch, recovery and fit.

Floral Maxi Dress
Long floral dresses bring more attention to fabric drape, skirt volume and finished length. With lightweight fabrics such as chiffon, we also check the lining, print placement and panel length on the sample. These details can change the way the skirt falls after sewing.
Floral Midi Dress
On a floral midi dress, the waist position can change the proportion of the whole skirt. This is checked during the first fitting before the pattern is graded into other sizes. A small change in waist height can alter the way the skirt falls, particularly on styles that finish below the knee.
Floral Mini Dress
Floral mini dresses often combine a short hemline with fitted areas around the waist or bodice. During sample fitting, we look at the fit, seam strength and how the fabric behaves around these areas. Ruffles, puff sleeves and ruching can add fabric usage and may require a different sewing sequence.
Floral Slip Dress
Floral slip dresses are often made in satin, chiffon or other lightweight woven fabrics. For these styles, the sample is checked around the straps, neckline and underarms, where lining, transparency and seam finishing can affect the final appearance.
Floral A-Line Dress
For A-line styles, we check shoulder balance, waist ease and the way the skirt falls from the waist during sampling. If the floral artwork has a directional pattern, the cutting layout is checked before bulk cutting so the print runs in the intended direction.
Floral Tiered Dress
For a floral tiered dress, the gathering ratio, tier length and print placement all affect the finished skirt. We confirm the volume and proportions on the sample before the pattern is released for bulk cutting.
Floral Bodycon Dress
Floral bodycon dresses need the fabric, print and pattern to work together. On the sample, we check stretch recovery, print scale, seam construction and overall fit. With stretch fabrics, excessive tension can pull the print out of shape, so fitting needs to be done carefully.
Floral Wrap Dress
On floral wrap dresses, the overlap, tie position and neckline coverage need to be settled during fitting. The front overlap can expose different parts of the print, so we review the placement on the sample before grading the pattern into other sizes.
Fabric Selection & Print Development
The same floral artwork can behave differently on chiffon, satin, mesh or cotton.
Fabric weight, stretch, shrinkage and surface are checked together with the artwork before production. They can affect the cutting layout, print placement and sewing method used for the dress.
Chiffon is commonly used for lightweight floral dresses and flowing silhouettes. The main production concerns are transparency, lining, cutting stability and seam finishing.

Satin is often used for floral occasionwear because of its smooth surface and drape. Marks can show easily on the fabric, so cutting, pressing and handling need extra care throughout production.

Mesh is commonly used for layered floral designs and semi-transparent styles. With stretch mesh, sewing tension around seams and fitted areas needs to be kept consistent so the fabric does not lose its shape.

Cotton and other woven fabrics are common choices for casual floral collections. Before cutting, we check shrinkage and fabric stability, together with any washing requirements that could change the finished measurements.
