Whatever the starting point, we check the main production points during development and raise potential problems before they reach bulk production.
Party Dress Manufacturing From Our Factory
We have been making dresses in our own factory since 2007. Party dress production is handled in-house, from pattern making and sampling through fabric inspection, cutting, sewing, pressing, finishing and final inspection.
As an experienced dress manufacturer, we see the production side of a party dress quite differently from a finished product photo. Sequins and beading need to be handled carefully during cutting and sewing. Lightweight fabrics can shift around gathers and draped areas, while fitted styles need closer attention to waist and bodice construction.
Details such as ruffles, bows, pleats, layered skirts and gathered panels are also checked on the actual sample. A fabric that is too soft may not hold a ruffle properly, while heavier construction can affect the movement of the skirt. These adjustments are much easier to make before bulk cutting starts.

Popular Party Dress Styles We Can Customize
We make a range of party dress styles to order for fashion brands, retailers and private label collections. The styles below give you an idea of the silhouettes and construction details we can develop in our factory.
Your starting point can be a finished design, reference dress, product photo or seasonal collection. From there, we can work through the fabric, silhouette, sizing and details such as ruching, sequins, beading, bows or layered skirts. Sampling comes first, followed by fitting and any necessary revisions before bulk production.
Catalogue from Xiuyu Apparel

Short hemlines make fitting problems easier to notice. We check finished length, hip fit and stretch recovery, especially on close-fitting styles. Lining tension is also checked before bulk cutting.

Midi dresses give more room for fabric choices, but each fabric falls differently. We usually check skirt drape and waist position again when changing from satin to crepe, velvet or jersey.

Long dresses put more load on the fabric. The main thing is how the fabric behaves once the dress reaches full length. Too much weight can pull the waist down or change the way the skirt hangs. The full-length sample gives us the clearest answer.

For bodycon styles, fabric stretch matters as much as the pattern. We check stretch recovery, seam tension and lining separately to avoid a dress that looks fitted but becomes uncomfortable after movement.

The waist and skirt need to stay in proportion. We check skirt volume, waist position and fabric fall on the sample. A fabric change can affect the hem quite noticeably.

Without shoulder straps, the neckline has to carry the garment. We check bust fit, neckline shape and internal support during fitting, including how the dress stays in place when moving.

One-shoulder styles can pull to one side if the pattern is slightly off. We check the shoulder, armhole and neckline together on the fitting sample rather than separately.

The halter strap affects both fit and comfort. We check its width, neckline depth and attachment points, particularly when the fabric has little stretch or the dress carries heavier details.

Private Label Party Dress Production
For private label orders, the garment can be finished with your own labels, tags and packaging requirements.
Depending on the collection, this may include:
- Woven labels
- Main labels
- Size labels
- Care labels
- Hangtags
- Custom packaging
- Brand-specific folding
- Polybag requirements
- Carton markings
It is better to confirm these requirements during development, before the bulk order reaches the packing stage.

Our Party Dress Manufacturing Capabilities
A sketch, tech pack, reference photo, existing garment or even a basic product idea can be used as the starting point.
As a dress manufacturer, we work through the main construction details before sampling, including fabric choice, fitting, trims and production requirements. This helps us identify anything that may cause problems once the style moves into bulk production.
Our party dress manufacturing covers:
- Custom pattern development
- Fabric and lining sourcing
- Sample development
- Fit adjustments
- Sequin and embellishment production
- Custom labels and hang tags
- Private label packaging
- Small-batch production
- Bulk manufacturing
- In-line quality inspection
- Final garment inspection
Our factory has been producing clothing since 2007. The current setup includes 750+ workers, 500+ sewing machines and 5 automatic cutting lines, with monthly capacity of up to 150,000 pieces depending on the styles and order requirements.
Low MOQ Party Dress Manufacturing
New brands do not always need thousands of pieces for the first run. We support lower-volume production for selected styles, with starting quantities commonly around 50–100 pieces per style/color.
The actual MOQ depends on:
- Fabric availability
- Custom dyeing
- Fabric MOQ
- Number of colors
- Sequin or embellishment requirements
- Custom trims
- Pattern complexity
- Size breakdown
The actual MOQ depends more on the fabric, colors, trims and construction than on the dress category itself. You can reorder the styles that sell instead of committing a large quantity to every design at the beginning.

Party Dress Sampling & Production Process
After reviewing the main design details, we first check whether the style is practical to make as requested.
01. Design Review
You send us whatever information you have — a tech pack, measurements, sketches, photos or even a reference sample.
We go through the main construction points first, including the fabric, measurements, seams and finishing. If we see something that may cause problems during production, we discuss it before making the sample.
02. Fabric Confirmation
If you already have a fabric in mind, we can work from your specification or fabric reference.
If not, we can source options based on the look and hand feel you need. For party dresses, we normally pay attention to fabric weight, drape, stretch and surface finish, since these can change how the finished style sits on the body.
03. Pattern Development
With the main specifications confirmed, our pattern maker develops the first pattern.
For fitted party dresses, we pay particular attention to the bust, waist and hip balance. For gathered, layered or flared styles, the amount of fullness also needs to be right before cutting.
04. Sample Making
The first sample is made for fitting and construction checks.
Our usual sample development time is around 3–7 days, although styles with detailed beading, sequins, special draping or more complicated construction may take longer.
At this stage, the fit is only one part of the check. We also look at how the fabric behaves after sewing and pressing.
05. Fitting & Revision
You review the sample and send us your comments.
If the bust, waist, length, neckline, sleeve or skirt shape needs changing, we revise the relevant pattern details. It is much easier to make these adjustments during sampling than after the fabric has already been cut for bulk production.
06. Bulk Production
After sample approval, the style moves into bulk production.
The order goes through fabric preparation and inspection, cutting, sewing, in-line QC, pressing, final inspection and packing. Our usual bulk production time is around 25–30 days after sample approval, depending on the order and style requirements.
Where Party Dress Development Usually Goes Wrong
From our side of production, problems with a party dress do not always start on the sewing line.
Quite often, the issue can be traced back to the fabric, the first pattern, or a detail that was not fully checked during sampling. Once bulk production starts, those small decisions can become much more expensive to change.
The Fabric Looks Right, but Acts Differently
A fabric may look very close to a reference garment but behave differently once we start cutting and sewing it.
For a fitted party dress, we look at stretch and recovery. With satin, the weight and drape can change the way the skirt falls. Velvet has its own issue because the pile needs to run consistently. These things are easy to overlook when choosing fabric from a photo.
We normally prefer to check the actual fabric against the construction before confirming the sample.
The First Sample Is Not Fully Checked
Getting the first sample to look right is only part of the job.
Before a party dress goes into bulk, we also need to look at things such as the zipper, lining, seam allowance, measurements and inside construction. A dress can look fine on the outside and still have a problem that only becomes obvious during production or wear.
A problem found during sampling is usually much easier to deal with than the same problem after bulk production has started.
One Size Fits, but the Full Size Range Does Not
This happens more often with fitted styles.
A sample may sit well in one size, but the proportions can change when the pattern is graded up or down. Corset-style bodices, strong waist shaping and close-fitting dresses need particular attention here.
We check that the important lines — especially the waist, bust and hip — still make sense across the size range rather than simply scaling everything up or down.
Details That Look Simple Can Take More Production Time
Sequins, beading, ruching, gathers and special trims can look straightforward in a sketch.
Once we make the garment, however, each detail can add sewing operations or require extra checking. Some decorative fabrics also need slower handling during cutting and sewing to avoid damage or uneven results.
We do not normally suggest removing a detail just because it takes more work. It is better to understand the extra production time and cost first, then decide whether the construction still makes sense for the collection.
Most Problems Are Easier to Fix Before Bulk Production
If something does not look right during development, we would rather deal with it then than after the order is already on the production line.
Changing a fabric, adjusting a pattern or changing part of the construction is relatively straightforward on a sample. Once hundreds of pieces have been cut, the same change can mean wasted fabric, extra labor and a delayed delivery date.

Party Dress Fabrics We Work With
The closest-looking fabric is not always the best production choice.
During development, we also consider how the material behaves during cutting, sewing, pressing, washing and packing. This matters particularly for satin, mesh, velvet and other fabrics that can change noticeably during production.
| Fabric | Common Applications | Production Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Satin | Slip, bodycon, maxi styles | Slippage, pressing, drape |
| Sequin | Statement party dresses | Sewing, lining, exposed edges |
| Mesh | Sheer and cut-out styles | Transparency, stretch, seam strength |
| Velvet | Premium and winter styles | Nap direction, pressing |
| Chiffon | Flowing silhouettes | Fraying, seam finishing |
| Lace | Feminine and occasion styles | Cutting, matching, finishing |
| Silk / Silk Blends | Premium party collections | Shrinkage, handling, pressing |
If you have a specific fabric in mind, you can send us the reference, composition or fabric specification. We can then check whether the material is practical for your intended construction and order quantity.
How We Check Party Dress Orders
For party dress orders, QC checks are carried out at several points during production rather than waiting until the finished garments are ready.
Fabric Inspection
Before bulk cutting, fabric is checked for visible defects, color consistency, width and general condition.
Cutting Inspection
Pattern pieces are checked against the approved production requirements. Directional fabrics, prints, lace and sequins need additional attention during cutting.
In-Line Sewing Inspection
QC checks stitching, measurements, seams and construction while production is running.
Decoration Inspection
For sequins, beads, embroidery or appliqué, placement and attachment are checked against the approved sample.
Final Inspection
Before shipment, finished garments are checked for measurements, workmanship, appearance, pressing, labels and packing requirements.
From Your Design to a Production Sample
You do not need to have every production detail worked out before you contact us.
In practice, some customers come to us with a complete tech pack, while others have little more than a few photos and an idea of how they want the dress to look. We start with the information you have and work through the missing production details during development.
A complete tech pack gives the production team more information to work from before sampling.
- Technical drawings
- Measurements and size specifications
- Construction details
- Fabric or material requirements
- Color references
- Label requirements
- Packaging instructions
We go through the details before sampling and flag anything that may cause a problem during cutting, sewing, fitting or bulk production. If a measurement, construction detail or material specification is unclear, it is better to sort it out before the sample is made.
A tech pack is not essential to get started.
You can send us a sketch, product photo, reference dress, mood board, existing garment or even a fabric sample. From these references, we can usually work out the basic silhouette, proportions and main construction details.
From there, we can discuss the fabric, measurements and construction, then move into pattern development and sample making. If something needs to be adjusted after the first sample, we can work through those changes before the style is approved for bulk production.
About Our Party Dress Factory
Xiuyu Apparel is a China-based clothing manufacturer specializing in dresses and occasionwear for fashion brands, retailers, wholesalers and private label companies.
Pattern making, fabric preparation, cutting, sewing, finishing and quality inspection are handled by the production team. This allows sample revisions and approved construction details to move more directly into bulk production.
A party dress passes through more than the sewing line before it becomes a finished garment.

Our production workflow includes:
Fabric Warehouse → Fabric Inspection → Pre-Shrinking → Automatic Cutting → Sewing → In-Line QC → Pressing → Final Inspection → Packing → Shipment

 Fabric Warehouse
Fabric rolls are recorded and checked before production. Batch information is useful when the same style is later reordered.
↓

Fabric Inspection
We check fabric condition, visible defects and color consistency before cutting.
↓

Fabric Pre-shrinking
Where required, fabric is pre-shrunk before cutting to help control dimensional changes.
↓

Automatic Cutting
After the pattern is approved, it is prepared for the cutting system. This helps keep the panels consistent from piece to piece and makes fabric use easier to control.
↓

Sewing Workshop
The sewing team follows the approved sample, pattern and construction details during assembly.
↓

In-line Inspection
QC checks are carried out while sewing is in progress. If an issue appears on the line, it can be corrected before the same problem reaches more pieces.
↓

In-line Pressing
After sewing, garments are pressed during production to improve the shape and remove wrinkles before inspection. The pressing result and overall appearance are checked before the garment moves to the next stage.
↓

Final Pressing
Garments are pressed, threads are trimmed and finishing details are checked before final inspection.
↓

Final Inspection
The finished garments are checked against the approved sample and order requirements.
↓

Garment Packing
Labels, tags, folding, packaging and carton requirements are confirmed before shipment.
↓

Finished Products
Finished garments are checked by style, color and size. Carton quantities, labels and packing details are verified before loading.

As a custom clothing manufacturer, we handle the main production steps in-house, from pattern making and sampling through cutting, sewing, finishing, and final inspection. Our team works from your tech pack, sample, sketch, or reference and checks the details before the style moves into bulk production.
Keeping these stages with one production team makes it easier to deal with pattern changes, sample revisions, and construction issues before cutting starts. We can also arrange screen printing and custom embroidery when these details are part of the design.

More Party Dress Styles Available For OEM & ODM Production

Ruched Party Dress
Ruching depends heavily on fabric behavior. We test the gathering length and placement on the sample first, because too much stretch can flatten the ruching while too little can make it stiff.

Backless Party Dress
Open-back styles need enough support without making the construction visible. We check the closure, back edge, waist and neckline together to prevent gaping or pulling during wear.

Corset Party Dress
Corset details often require boning, shaped panels or stronger lining. We decide where support is actually needed during sampling, then check whether the construction remains practical for bulk sewing.

Satin Party Dress
Satin moves easily during cutting and can show pressing marks. We check grain direction, lining and pressing before production. Bias-cut styles also need extra fabric allowance during cutting.

Sequin Party Dress
Sequins can make seams bulky and slow down sewing. We check sequin direction, seam areas and lining on the sample first, especially where the fabric is densely covered.

Mesh Party Dress
With mesh, lining placement changes the whole look. We check transparency, stretch and seam strength on the actual sample, particularly around cut-outs and areas where the mesh carries tension.

Velvet Party Dress
Velvet has a clear nap direction. All panels need to follow the same direction, otherwise light reflects differently across the garment. We check the cutting layout before production starts.

Xiuyu Apparel — Clothing Manufacturer for Custom Women’s Dresses
Our usual MOQ is 50–100 pieces per style/color for custom party dress production. The exact quantity can depend on the fabric, construction, and color requirements. If you are launching a new collection or testing a style, we can discuss the order quantity before sampling.
A party dress sample usually takes 3–7 days once we have the required measurements, fabric, and design details. Styles with sequins, beading, special draping, or more complicated construction may need additional time. We confirm the timing before starting the sample.
Yes. We can help source fabrics based on your design, target price, color, and required hand feel. For party dresses, we normally check drape, weight, stretch, and surface finish before recommending an option. You can also send us a fabric reference, and we can look for a suitable match.
Yes. We regularly work with brands that start with a smaller quantity to test a new party dress style before placing a larger order. If the style needs to be repeated, we can check the fabric availability, production schedule, and previous specifications before arranging the repeat order.
You can send the exact fabric reference if you already have one. If it is unavailable or unsuitable for the required quantity, we can look for alternatives with similar weight, hand feel, appearance or performance. The goal is not simply to find something visually similar, but something that also works with the garment construction.
Yes. Sequin dresses require additional attention to cutting direction, seam placement, lining, decoration density and sewing methods. We normally confirm these details during sampling because the finished result can change depending on the sequin fabric and garment construction.
Yes. If you do not already have a confirmed fabric, you can provide the desired appearance, hand feel and target price. We can then compare suitable materials based on drape, weight, stretch, finishing and production behavior instead of choosing only from photographs.
Yes. Your order can include custom neck labels, size labels, hang tags, care labels, packaging and other brand requirements. We confirm these details before production so your finished garments follow the specifications needed for your own retail or wholesale channels.
Yes. You can send a tech pack, sketch, product photo, reference garment or existing sample. We first review the construction, fabric and measurements to understand what is required before making the sample. If something needs adjustment for production, we discuss it before bulk manufacturing.
