Why Work Directly With a Clothing Manufacturer?
When you work directly with the factory, pattern making, sampling, fabric sourcing, cutting, sewing and QC are handled within the same production team.
The production details can be carried from the first sample through PP approval and into bulk production. This is particularly useful when several styles are being developed for the same collection.
We have manufactured dresses in our own factory since 2007, working with different silhouettes, fabrics and construction methods.
Who We Manufacture Luxury Dresses For
Our B2B customers include:
- Fashion startups
- New fashion brands
- Fashion designers
- Purchasing managers
- Fashion buyers
- Boutique owners
- Retailers
- Wholesalers
- Private label companies
- Established fashion brands
If your design is already finalized, you can send the tech pack directly.
If the design is still being developed, you can send a sketch, reference image, existing garment or physical sample for the pattern and sample teams to review.

Our Luxury Dress Manufacturing Capabilities
Your collection may include fitted evening dresses, draped silhouettes, corset styles, embellished gowns or simpler luxury day dresses. Each style can require a different approach to fabric, pattern and sewing.
Our factory has:
- 750+ workers
- 500+ sewing machines
- 5 automatic cutting lines
- 5,000㎡ production facility
- 15 pattern makers
- 35 sample sewers
- 150,000+ pcs monthly production capacity across different dress categories and order volumes
- Export experience to 40+ countries
The pattern department handles new pattern development and revisions. Our sample room develops first samples and fit corrections before an approved PP sample is passed to bulk production.
When several styles are sampled together, the pattern, sample and production teams can work from the same confirmed specifications.
Custom Luxury Dress Manufacturing for Fashion Brands
A dress can look straightforward in a sketch and still need several sample adjustments once the fabric and construction are tested.
A fitted bodice, for example, may need changes around the bust, waist, armhole or side seam. Beading, rhinestones and embroidery can also add weight or affect seam construction.
Development can start from a tech pack, sketch, reference photo, existing garment or physical sample. Our pattern and sample teams review the construction and develop the first sample from the information provided.
Pattern making, fabric sourcing, sampling, cutting, sewing, finishing and QC are handled in our own factory.

Fabric Options for Luxury Dresses
Fabric selection affects the structure, drape and finishing of the dress, not just its appearance.
| Fabric | Suitable For | Production Considerations |
|---|---|---|
| Satin | Evening, occasion and structured dresses | Surface appearance, seam handling and pressing |
| Silk | Luxury and occasion collections | Grainline, drape and delicate handling |
| Chiffon | Flowing evening and layered dresses | Sheerness, lining and cutting |
| Velvet | Evening and winter occasion dresses | Fabric direction, nap and pressing |
| Crepe | Fitted, evening and contemporary dresses | Drape, structure and seam finishing |

If the fabric has already been selected, send the specification with your design. If not, a design or reference garment is enough for us to suggest suitable options before sampling.
Luxury Dress Styles We Can Manufacture
You can send your own designs rather than choosing from a fixed catalogue. We can develop the pattern and sample from your tech pack, sketch or reference garment.

Luxury Evening Dress
Satin, silk, chiffon and embellished fabrics are common choices for evening dresses. The main production points are usually fabric drape, lining, seam finishing and pressing. For long or fluid styles, fabric weight can also affect the final shape.

Luxury Formal Dress
For formal dresses, the proportions need to stay clean from the neckline through the skirt. Structured bodices, long skirts and heavier fabrics can require different pattern and sewing adjustments during sampling.

Luxury Cocktail Dress
Cocktail styles are often shorter and more fitted, with details such as draping, gathers or embellishment. We look at the bodice fit, hem balance and fabric recovery before the style moves into bulk production.

Luxury Wedding Guest Dress
Wedding guest dresses may use chiffon, satin, lightweight prints or other dress fabrics. During development, we pay attention to opacity, lining, color and fit, particularly on lighter fabrics.

Luxury Resort Dress
Resort dresses are often made with lighter fabrics and more relaxed silhouettes. Fabric shrinkage, print placement and skirt movement need to be considered before the production sample is approved.

Luxury Occasion Dress
Occasion dresses can involve draping, special trims, structured panels or decorative details. The fabric and construction are reviewed together before the first sample, particularly when several details affect the same area of the garment.

Luxury Maxi Dress
With maxi dresses, proportion and fabric behavior have a noticeable effect on the finished garment. We check the finished length, skirt volume, lining and fabric drape during sampling, especially for lightweight or fluid materials.

Luxury Midi Dress
Midi length can be more sensitive than it looks. A few centimeters at the hem can change the proportion of the whole dress, especially when the bodice is fitted or the skirt has volume. We check the finished length during sample fitting rather than relying only on the measurement sheet.
More LuxuryDress Styles We Manufacture

Luxury Fit & Flare Dress
Fit and flare dresses combine a closer bodice with a fuller skirt. The waist transition and skirt volume need to match the selected fabric. These details are adjusted during sample fitting to achieve the intended shape.

Luxury A-Line Dress
A-line dresses rely on a clean transition from the bodice into the skirt. Pattern shaping, fabric drape and hem balance are reviewed during sampling, particularly around the waist and skirt opening.

Luxury Mini Dress
Mini dresses leave little room for fitting mistakes. We pay particular attention to the waist, hip, hem balance and fabric recovery when developing fitted or stretch mini dress styles.

Luxury Bodycon Dress
Bodycon dresses show fabric and fit issues quickly. We check stretch recovery, seam tension, bust and hip measurements during sampling, especially when using knitted or stretch fabrics.

Luxury Mermaid Dress
Mermaid dresses require careful control of the fitted upper section and the flare below the knee. We check the transition point, skirt volume and fabric movement during pattern development.

Quality Points We Check in Luxury Dress Production
For custom dresses, the important point is keeping the bulk production close to the approved sample.
The production team checks:
- Bust and waist measurements
- Shoulder and neckline
- Armhole
- Side seam
- Garment length
- Fabric appearance
- Lining and internal construction
- Zippers and closures
- Draping and ruching
- Embroidery, beading and other embellishment
- Seam finishing
- Loose threads
- Pressing
The first approved sample remains the reference for bulk production. Quality checks are carried out during sewing and again during final inspection so measurement, construction and finishing issues can be identified before packing.

Luxury Dress Development Process
You can start a luxury dress project with a finished tech pack, a sketch, a reference garment or even a product image.
Our usual development process is:
Design Review → Pattern Development → Fabric & Trim Selection → Sample Making → Fit Correction → PP Sample Approval → Bulk Production → Final QC → Packing
We normally look at the construction and finishing details before quoting.
A luxury dress may look simple on the outside, but details such as boning, lining, draping, hand-applied embellishments, embroidery, beading or delicate fabrics can add more sampling and sewing work.
These details are confirmed before sampling so the factory can quote and develop the style against the same specifications.
MOQ, Sampling and Production Lead Time for Luxury Dresses
| Item | Typical Production Details |
|---|---|
| MOQ | 50–100 pcs per style/color |
| Sample Development | 3–7 days |
| Bulk Production | 25–30 days |
| OEM | Supported |
| ODM | Supported |
| Private Label | Supported |
| Fabric Sourcing | Available |
These are typical working ranges rather than fixed promises.
Lead time depends mainly on fabric availability, order quantity, construction and sample revisions. Luxury dresses with hand-applied beading, embroidery, boning, layered construction or delicate fabrics may require additional development and production time.
Early confirmation of fabric, trims and construction details can reduce revisions during development. Once the PP sample is approved and fabric is confirmed, the bulk order can move into production with the approved specifications as the reference.

Private Label Luxury Dress Manufacturing
The garment and branding can be developed as one production order.
Private label options include:
- Woven labels
- Printed labels
- Size labels
- Care labels
- Hangtags
- Barcodes
- Custom polybags
- Cartons
- Boxes
Your label artwork, packaging design and barcode information can be provided before production. These details can be reviewed before production so the factory team has the correct specifications when the order starts.
How We Manufacture Luxury Dresses
01. Design & Tech Pack Review
Before pattern making starts, we review the design information you provide.
Measurements, construction details, fabric, lining, closures, trims and artwork are checked together. If something is unclear, we identify it before the first pattern is made.
For complicated styles, unclear neckline, seam or construction details can lead to pattern revisions later. A small change to the neckline or seam position can affect the adjoining pattern pieces.
02. Fabric & Trim Sourcing
If the fabric is not fixed, we source options according to the design and target requirements.
We compare fabric weight, drape, stretch, surface, shrinkage and color before confirming the fabric.
Trims and embellishments are also reviewed at this stage when the design includes beads, rhinestones, sequins, embroidery or appliqué.
03. Pattern Making
Our pattern department develops the first pattern from the confirmed design information.
For fitted dresses, the bust, waist, hip, neckline and armhole need to stay balanced. For draped or asymmetric designs, the pattern also needs to account for how the fabric will sit and move.
04. Sample Development
The first sample is made in our sample room.
We have 15 pattern makers and 35 sample sewers working on sample development. Construction details are reviewed during sampling before the order moves into bulk cutting.
05. Fit Revision
After reviewing the first sample, you can provide fitting comments, updated measurements or construction changes.
The pattern is revised around the areas that need correction. For fitted dresses, this may involve the bust, waist, hip, armhole or length. For asymmetric styles, balance and neckline position may also need adjustment.
06. PP Sample Approval
The PP sample is the production reference for the bulk order.
Once you approve the sample and the specifications are confirmed, those details are carried into bulk production. This includes the fabric, measurements, construction, trims and finishing requirements agreed during development.
07. Bulk Cutting & Sewing
After fabric confirmation and PP sample approval, the order moves into bulk production.
Fabric is prepared and checked before cutting. The cutting department then follows the confirmed pattern and size breakdown.
During sewing, the production lines work from the approved construction rather than making new decisions on the production floor.
08. In-Line QC
Quality checks are carried out during production.
Measurements, seams, lining, zippers, hems, stitching and construction details are checked while the garments are being sewn.
For embellished dresses, QC also checks placement and attachment against the approved sample or artwork.
09. Finishing & Final Inspection
After sewing, the dresses go through pressing and finishing before final inspection.
The final check covers appearance, measurements, construction, loose threads, labels and packing requirements.
If an issue is found, it can be dealt with before the garments are packed for shipment.
10. Packing
For private label orders, you can provide your own packaging and labeling requirements.
We can handle:
- Woven or printed labels
- Size labels
- Care labels
- Hangtags
- Barcodes
- Custom polybags
- Cartons
- Boxes
Packaging specifications are confirmed before production and followed during final packing.

Luxury Dress Quality Control
The main quality concern with a custom dress order is often not whether the first sample looks good. It is whether the bulk garments stay close to that approved sample.
We therefore check the order at several stages.
Fabric Inspection
Fabric is checked before bulk cutting for issues such as:
- Surface defects
- Color consistency
- Width
- Shrinkage
- General fabric condition
A Four-Point fabric inspection method can be used where applicable to the order requirements.
Measurement & Construction
The approved size chart and production specifications are used as references during sewing and final inspection.
For fitted dresses, key points such as bust, waist, hip and length receive particular attention.
Embellishment
Beaded, rhinestone, sequin and embroidered dresses require additional checks.
Placement, density, attachment and symmetry are compared with the approved sample or artwork where applicable.
Final Inspection
Before packing, finished garments are checked for:
- Overall appearance
- Measurements
- Sewing quality
- Finishing
- Labels
- Packing requirements
Luxury Dress Embellishment & Special Details
If your design includes decoration, you can provide artwork, placement drawings, reference photos or a physical sample.
Our production team can work with different surface treatments, including:
- Beading
- Rhinestones
- Sequins
- Embroidery
- Appliqué
- Lace placement
- Crystal details
- Pleating
- Draping
- Ruched details
For a heavily embellished dress, the decoration can change the weight of the garment. It may also affect seams, hems and areas that need to move with the wearer.
Embellishment is included at the sample stage so its weight, placement and attachment can be checked before bulk production.

Why Luxury Dress Production Requires More Development Work
A luxury dress does not necessarily have a complicated appearance. Some of the more difficult styles are visually simple but rely on accurate pattern work and clean finishing.
Satin, silk, chiffon, velvet, lace and stretch fabrics behave differently during cutting and sewing.
If the fabric is not confirmed, we can source options based on drape, weight, handfeel, appearance and target price.
Fabric selection can affect the pattern and construction, so it should be confirmed before final sample approval.
A fitted luxury dress needs more than a basic size chart.
The neckline, bust, waist, hip, armhole, seam lines and hem need to work together. This becomes more noticeable with bodycon, corset, mermaid, asymmetric or draped styles.
Our pattern department can develop the pattern from your measurements, tech pack, sketch, reference garment or physical sample.
The outside of a dress may look simple while the inside contains several construction details.
Depending on the design, your dress may require lining, interfacing, cups, boning, inner support, concealed zippers or multiple fabric layers.
These details are confirmed during sample development before the order moves into production.
Beading, rhinestones, sequins, embroidery and appliqué add another layer to production.
The placement, density and weight of the decoration need to work with the garment construction. Heavy embellishment can also affect seams and movement.
For these styles, the main embellishment details are confirmed on the sample before bulk production.
About Our Luxury Dress Factory
Xiuyu Apparel is a China-based dress manufacturer with in-house pattern development, cutting, sewing, finishing and QC.

Cutting Room & Fabric warehouse

As a custom clothing manufacturer, we handle the main production steps in-house, from pattern making and sampling through cutting, sewing, finishing, and final inspection. Our team works from your tech pack, sample, sketch, or reference and checks the details before the style moves into bulk production.
Keeping these stages with one production team makes it easier to deal with pattern changes, sample revisions, and construction issues before cutting starts. We can also arrange screen printing and custom embroidery when these details are part of the design.

More Luxury Dress Styles Available For OEM & ODM Production

Luxury Cut Out Dress
Cut-out dresses need precise placement around the opening. The sample team checks the opening shape, edge finishing, lining and surrounding seams before bulk production.

Luxury Backless Dress
Backless dresses need enough support around the back opening, straps and neckline while keeping the intended shape of the design, especially when the design has limited coverage.

Luxury Corset Dress
Corset dresses involve more internal construction than a basic fitted style. Boning placement, panel seams, bust shaping and lining are reviewed during sample development.

Luxury Ruched Dress
Ruched dresses depend on controlled gathering rather than simply adding fullness. We check ruching direction, seam placement, fabric stretch and the amount of gathering during sample development.

Luxury Pleated Dress
Pleated dresses require consistent pleat width and controlled fabric handling. We check the pleat layout, pressing, waistband or bodice connection and finished length before approving the production sample.

Luxury Slip Dress
Slip dresses are often simple in appearance but sensitive to fabric and finishing. We pay attention to bias cutting, strap placement, lining and seam treatment, particularly with satin and silk fabrics.

Luxury Halter Dress
Halter dresses place more responsibility on the neckline and shoulder area. At PP stage, we check neck width, bust support, armholes and strap placement so the dress sits correctly when worn.

Luxury One Shoulder Dress
One shoulder dresses need careful pattern balance because the neckline is asymmetric. We check the shoulder point, armhole, bust and side seams during sampling to keep the bodice sitting correctly.

Our MOQ is usually 50–100 pieces per style/color. If you are developing several styles, we can review the collection together to identify shared fabrics, trims or construction details. This is useful when you want to test a new collection without starting with very large quantities.
Yes. You can send a sketch, reference photo, existing garment or physical sample. We review the available information first and identify missing measurements or construction details before pattern making. A more complete tech pack can speed up development, but it is not required for every project.
Yes. If the fabric has not been finalized, we can source options according to the design, target price, weight, drape and handfeel. We also consider how the material behaves during cutting and sewing because the fabric can affect the final pattern and construction.
Yes. We can develop dresses with beading, rhinestones, sequins, embroidery and other embellishments. You can provide artwork or placement references. During sampling, we check the decoration together with the garment construction so its weight and position do not create problems in bulk production.
The approved PP sample and production specifications are used as the bulk reference. Fabric is checked before cutting, while in-line QC monitors construction during sewing. Finished garments are inspected for measurements, seams, zippers, hems, embellishment, pressing and packing before shipment.
Yes. You can add woven labels, printed labels, size and care labels, hangtags, barcodes and custom packaging. If your brand has specific packaging or labeling requirements, these can be reviewed together with the garment specifications before bulk production starts.
Sample development is usually 3–7 days after the required design and material information is available. A simple style may move through sampling quickly, while structured dresses or styles with extensive embellishment may require more development work before the sample is ready for review.
