Why Work With Xiuyu Apparel?
Xiuyu Apparel has more than 18 years of clothing manufacturing experience.
Our factory operates with:
- 5,000㎡ production facility
- 500+ sewing machines
- 750+ production workers
- Around 150,000 pieces monthly capacity
- OEM / ODM production
- Private label manufacturing
- Custom packaging
We handle the production process from fabric preparation and pattern development through sampling, sewing, inspection and packing.
The factory size is only one part of the picture.
What matters during bulk production is whether the approved sample can be followed closely, including the fit, construction, fabric handling and finishing details.
Evening Dress Manufacturer for Fashion Startups
If you are launching your first collection, you may not have an in-house production manager checking every detail.
You may need help answering practical questions such as:
- Which fabric will give me the drape I want?
- Will this neckline stay in position?
- Is the sample construction suitable for bulk production?
- How much fabric will this design consume?
- Can I start with a smaller quantity?
- Can the same fit be repeated in another color?
These questions usually come up while a new style is being developed.
Some of our customers are developing their first collection. Others already have regular production running and come to us with repeat styles or new designs.
You can start with one style, develop the sample, review the result and then decide whether to expand the order.

Your Professional Evening Dress Manufacturer
We have been making dresses in our own factory since 2007. As an experienced dress manufacturer, Xiuyu Apparel handles the work in-house, from pattern making and sampling through cutting, sewing, pressing, finishing, and final inspection.
With evening dresses, we pay close attention to things that may not be obvious from a photo. The fabric can behave differently once it is cut and sewn. Lining choice can affect the way a skirt falls, while a fitted bodice may need extra support to hold its shape. On longer dresses, we also check the balance of the skirt after sewing and pressing.
We try to catch these points during sampling, when changes are still easier to make.
If you have a finished design, send us the tech pack, measurements, or reference sample and we can go through the production details with you. If you are still working from reference photos, that works too. We can discuss the fabric, construction, fit, and finishing before the first sample is made.

Evening Dress Manufacturing Process at Our Factory
Your order moves through several production stages before shipment:
Fabric Warehouse → Fabric Inspection → Pre-Shrinking → Automatic Cutting → Sewing → In-Line QC → Pressing → Final Inspection → Packing → Shipment
Fabric is checked before cutting. During sewing, production quality is monitored rather than waiting until the final stage.
For eveningwear, pressing and final appearance are particularly important because satin, velvet, chiffon and embellished fabrics can show small finishing problems easily.
Your approved sample remains the main reference throughout production.
Popular Evening Dress Styles We Manufacture
Evening dresses can look very different even when they use a similar silhouette. The fabric, fit and internal construction often change how a style needs to be made. We develop these details around the actual design rather than using one standard construction for every dress.

Satin tends to show everything. A slightly uneven seam, a pressing mark or a lining that pulls too tightly can be noticeable once the dress is under strong lighting. We normally check these points on the sample, especially around fitted sections.

Sequins can make cutting and sewing slower than a regular woven fabric. Before production, we look at the sequin size, backing and placement around seams and hems. These details can affect both workmanship and material cost.

Lace needs to be planned before cutting. If the pattern repeat is not considered, the front and back panels may not line up as expected. Scalloped edges also need to be positioned deliberately, particularly around hems and necklines.

Chiffon is easy to move and drape, but it is less forgiving during production. Seams can shift, edges can stretch and the finished dress may look more transparent than the fabric did on the table. We normally check the lining and layer construction on the sample.

With velvet, we mark the nap direction before cutting. Turning one panel the wrong way can change the way the surface reflects light, so this is something we check before the fabric goes onto the cutting table.

The shape through the waist, hip and lower skirt is what makes a mermaid dress work. If the balance is off, the flare can sit differently than expected. We check this on the sample before moving into bulk production.

An A-line dress can change quite a lot just by changing the fabric. Chiffon gives a softer fall, while crepe or heavier satin can hold more shape. We normally decide the skirt volume after the fabric has been confirmed rather than treating the pattern as fixed.

The shoulder may look like a simple design detail, but it has to carry the neckline correctly. On a one-shoulder style, a small change at the shoulder can affect the neckline on the other side. During sampling, we check the shoulder construction together with the lining and closure rather than treating them as separate details.

What Affects the Cost of an Evening Dress?
The cost of an evening dress is usually worked out from the actual design rather than the dress category alone. We normally look at the fabric, construction, workmanship and order details before quoting.
- Fabric:Â Silk, satin, velvet, chiffon, lace and sequins all have different costs and fabric consumption.
- Construction:Â Boning, padding, layers, draping and fitted sections usually add sewing time and workmanship.
- Embellishment: Beading, sequins, crystals and embroidery can add both material and handwork, especially on detailed designs.
- Lining: Lining choice and the number of layers can make a noticeable difference to the final cost.
- Fabric Consumption: Full skirts, pleats, draping and bias cuts can use considerably more fabric than fitted styles.
- Order Quantity: A larger order normally gives us more room to spread setup and preparation costs across the pieces.
- Custom Branding: Labels, hangtags, barcodes and custom packaging are quoted according to your private label requirements.

Low MOQ Evening Dress Manufacturer
If you are testing a new style, you may prefer to start with a smaller run before committing to a larger production quantity.
For selected evening dress projects, our MOQ can start from:
50–100 pieces per style/color
The actual MOQ depends on the fabric and construction. A basic satin dress may be easier to produce in a smaller run, while custom-dyed fabric, heavy sequins, or special embroidery may require more.
We usually confirm the MOQ after checking your design and material requirements, rather than applying the same quantity to every style.
MOQ for New Brands
Start smaller when the fabric and construction allow it.
MOQ for Special Materials
Custom fabrics and detailed embellishment may require a higher quantity.
Mixed Colors or Sizes
For multiple colors or sizes, we can discuss the quantity split when reviewing the order.
What Should You Prepare Before Requesting a Quote?
You do not need a perfect tech pack to start a conversation, but more information usually means fewer misunderstandings later.
If available, send:
- Design sketches or reference images
- Tech pack
- Measurements
- Fabric preference
- Color requirements
- Estimated quantity
- Size range
- Lining requirements
- Embellishment details
- Label and packaging requirements
- Target delivery date
If you are unsure about the fabric, you can tell us the look and hand feel you want instead. That gives us something to work from when checking fabric options.

What to Check Before Placing an Evening Dress Order
Before placing an evening dress order, it is worth checking how the factory handles the parts of production that are difficult to judge from a finished photo.
You should also ask:
- What is the MOQ for my actual style?
- How long does sampling take?
- Can the factory work from my tech pack?
- What happens if the first sample needs revision?
- Who checks the fabric before cutting?
- How is the approved sample used during bulk production?
- How are long dresses checked for finished length?
- Can the factory handle lining and structured bodices?
- Can labels and packaging be supplied?
- What is the realistic bulk production schedule?
A good sample is only the first step. The next question is how closely the bulk pieces will follow that approved sample.
Private Label Evening Dress Manufacturing
If you are building your own clothing brand, you can provide your existing branding specifications.
We can arrange:
- Woven labels
- Printed labels
- Care labels
- Size labels
- Hangtags
- Barcode labels
- Custom polybags
- Custom packaging
- Carton markings
Your evening dresses are manufactured according to your approved design and sample rather than selected from a standard factory collection.

How We Manufacture Evening Dresses
1. Design Review
Send us your design, reference photos, tech pack, or existing sample.
Before making the pattern, our team looks through the silhouette, fabric, measurements, construction and any special details. If something looks likely to cause a fitting, cost, or production issue, we discuss it before the sample is made.
2. Fabric & Trim Sourcing
If you already know the fabric specification, we can source according to it.
If you are still choosing, we can show you practical options and compare them by weight, hand feel, drape, stretch, surface finish and price. We also check whether the fabric will work with the construction of the dress.
3. Pattern Development
Once the main specifications are confirmed, our pattern team starts the sample pattern.
We do not use the same pattern approach for every fabric. Satin, chiffon, velvet and stretch fabrics can behave quite differently on the table and after sewing, so the pattern may need to be adjusted to suit the actual material.
4. Sample Making
The first sample is where we see how the design works as a real garment.
This is when you can check the fit, measurements, fabric, lining, construction and overall shape. If something looks different from the original reference, we can identify the reason and make the adjustment before bulk production.
5. Sample Revision
Most evening dress samples need some adjustment before approval.
You may want to change the neckline, length, waist position, sleeve shape, fit or drape. We make the changes based on your comments and update the sample until the main details are confirmed.
Once approved, the sample is kept as the production reference.
6. Fabric Inspection
Before fabric goes to cutting, we check the rolls for visible defects, shade differences, width and general condition.
On larger orders, we also compare rolls for shade and general consistency before cutting. A small shade difference may not be obvious on a single piece but can become noticeable when garments are placed together.
7. Cutting
After the pattern and fabric are approved, the cutting team prepares the production markers and starts cutting.
Fabric consumption depends on the actual pattern, size range and layout. Bias-cut evening dresses usually require more fabric because the pieces cannot be laid out as efficiently as a standard straight-grain cut.
8. Bulk Sewing
The cut panels move to the sewing line according to the approved construction.
Our sewing team checks the areas that usually need more attention on eveningwear, including seams, zippers, lining, neckline, fitted sections and decorative details. The aim is to keep the finished garments consistent with the approved sample.
9. In-Line QC
We do not wait until the whole order is finished to check quality.
During sewing, QC checks are carried out on the production line. If a problem is found with measurements, stitching or construction, it can be corrected while the work is still in progress instead of being discovered at the end of the order.
10. Pressing & Finishing
Pressing can make a noticeable difference to the finished evening dress.
Satin, velvet, chiffon and embellished fabrics do not all react to heat and pressure in the same way. Our finishing team adjusts the pressing method according to the fabric and checks the garment again after pressing.
11. Final Inspection
Before packing, finished dresses are checked against the approved sample and production specifications.
We check measurements, stitching, garment appearance, labels and other agreed details. Any loose threads, stains, pressing marks or visible production issues are dealt with before the garments are packed.
12. Packing
The final packing follows the requirements confirmed for your order.
For private label production, we can add your woven labels, care labels, hangtags, barcodes and polybags. Carton markings and packing quantities can also be arranged according to your shipping or warehouse requirements.

Production Considerations for Evening Dresses
Satin and Silk Need Careful Pressing
Satin and silk can show marks quite easily if the heat or pressure is not right.
During production, the pressing method needs to be adjusted to the fabric. This becomes especially noticeable on evening dresses under strong lighting, where a small shine, crease, or pressing mark can stand out more than it did on the worktable.
Sequin Fabric Can Slow Down Sewing
Sequin fabric takes a little more care on the cutting and sewing line.
Depending on the sequin size, density, and placement, some areas around seams may need to be cleared or handled differently. The backing also matters. A heavier sequin fabric can take more time to cut and sew, which needs to be considered when working out the production cost.
Strapless Dresses Need the Right Support
A strapless dress has to stay in place without relying on shoulder straps.
We normally look at the neckline, bust fit, lining, boning or other internal support together. The construction depends on the fabric and the shape of the dress. What works well for one strapless style may not be suitable for another.
Lightweight Fabrics Can Look Different Under Lighting
Chiffon and other lightweight fabrics can look fine indoors but appear much more transparent under strong lighting.
For eveningwear, we check the fabric and lining together, especially when the dress will be used for events, photography, or stage wear. Depending on the fabric and the design, we may recommend one layer, an extra layer, or a different lining.
Bias Cutting Uses More Fabric
Bias-cut dresses usually require more fabric than a standard straight-grain cut.
The difference comes from how the pattern pieces need to be placed on the fabric. For a dress where the bias drape is important, we calculate the consumption from the actual pattern and size range instead of relying on a general fabric estimate.
Evening Dress Fabrics We Work With
The fabric you choose affects the silhouette, construction and final cost of your evening dress.
We can work with your nominated fabric or help you source suitable options according to the design.
| Fabric | Common Use | What We Check |
|---|---|---|
| Satin | Slip, fitted and A-line dresses | Drape, sheen, pressing |
| Chiffon | Flowing gowns | Transparency, lining, seam handling |
| Lace | Formal and luxury styles | Pattern placement, lining, edge |
| Velvet | Evening and winter styles | Nap direction, weight, pressing |
| Sequin | Statement eveningwear | Surface, cutting, sewing |
| Crepe | Fitted gowns | Drape, recovery, fit |
| Silk / Silk Blend | Premium eveningwear | Weight, hand feel, shrinkage |
| Polyester Blend | Commercial collections | Cost, stability, finish |
If you already have a fabric specification, send it with your design. We can check the composition, weight, stretch, color and hand feel before the fabric is ordered for bulk production.
Quality Control for Evening Dresses
With evening dresses, small workmanship issues are often easy to notice, especially on satin, fitted styles, long skirts, and embellished designs.
Our QC team checks the garments during production, so problems can be dealt with while the order is still on the line rather than being left until the final inspection.
Fabric Inspection
Before cutting, we check the fabric for shade, visible defects, width, quantity, and general condition.
Cutting Check
Cut panels are checked against the approved pattern and size specifications. We also make sure the fabric direction is correct, especially for fabrics with a nap, shine, print, or other directional surface.
In-Line Inspection
While the dresses are being sewn, QC checks measurements, seam quality, stitching, zippers, lining, and other construction details. Problems found at this stage can usually be corrected without waiting for the finished garment.
Fitting & Measurement Check
Key measurements are checked against the approved sample and specifications. We pay particular attention to fitted bodices, waist positions, neckline shape, and the finished length of long dresses.
Pressing Check
Pressing is handled according to the fabric. Satin and velvet can show marks easily, while sequins and delicate fabrics need different handling. We check the garment again after pressing.
Final Inspection
Before packing, the finished dresses are checked for measurements, appearance, stitching, loose threads, stains, labels, and agreed packing details.
About Our Evening Dress Factory
Xiuyu Apparel is a China-based clothing manufacturer specializing in dresses and occasionwear for fashion brands, retailers, wholesalers, and private label companies.
Our team handles pattern making, fabric preparation, cutting, sewing, finishing and quality inspection in-house. Because these stages are handled by the same production team, changes made during sampling can be carried through to bulk production more directly.
For evening dress orders, this means we can stay involved from the first sample through the finished garments rather than treating sampling and bulk production as completely separate processes.

As a custom clothing manufacturer, we handle the main production steps in-house, from pattern making and sampling through cutting, sewing, finishing, and final inspection. Our team works from your tech pack, sample, sketch, or reference and checks the details before the style moves into bulk production.
Keeping these stages with one production team makes it easier to deal with pattern changes, sample revisions, and construction issues before cutting starts. We can also arrange screen printing and custom embroidery when these details are part of the design.

More Evening Dress Styles Available For OEM & ODM Production

Off-Shoulder Evening Dress
An off-shoulder neckline should stay where it is meant to sit without making the wearer feel restricted. Depending on the design, elastic, lining and internal support may all play a part in keeping the neckline stable.

Long Evening Gown
With a long gown, the finished hem needs to look even when the dress is actually worn. Fabric weight, stretch and drape can change the final length, so we check the completed sample rather than relying only on the original pattern.

Backless Evening Dress
A backless design leaves less space for conventional support and closures. The open-back shape therefore needs to be considered together with the straps, neckline, lining and fastening method during sample development.

Strapless Evening Dress
A strapless dress depends heavily on its internal construction. Bust fit, neckline shape, lining and support all need to work together so the dress stays in place without making the outside look bulky.

Bodycon Evening Dress
For a bodycon style, the fabric can make a big difference to the finished fit. We look at stretch and recovery as well as the measurements, since a fabric that does not recover well can change the shape after wear.

Embellished Evening Dress
Beading, crystals, appliqué and other surface details need to be considered before production starts. Their weight and placement can affect the fabric, sewing process and packing, particularly on heavily decorated evening dresses.

Have an Evening Dress Project to Develop?
Send us your tech pack, sketch, reference photo, or existing sample.
If you already have a target quantity, fabric choice, or delivery date in mind, send those details with the design. That gives us a better idea of what needs to be checked before sampling.
Still working on the design? That’s fine. Send us what you have. We can review the fabric, construction, and sampling details with you before making the first sample.
Send Your Evening Dress Details
Our MOQ for custom evening dresses is usually 50–100 pieces per style and color. For a new brand, we can start with a smaller run when the fabric and construction allow it. Dresses with heavy beading, embroidery, or custom fabrics may require a higher MOQ.
Most samples take around 3–7 days once the basic fabric and specifications are confirmed. Silk styles generally take around 5–7 days. If your design includes heavy embellishment, complicated construction or custom materials, we will confirm the timing before sampling.
Yes. We can work from your tech pack, including measurements, construction details, fabric information, trims, and artwork. During sampling, our pattern and production teams will check the details carefully and flag anything that may affect fit, sewing, or the final appearance before moving to bulk production.
Quality is checked throughout production, not only at the end. Our QC team checks fabric, measurements, stitching, lining, zippers, and decorative details during sewing. Before packing, each dress is inspected again for loose threads, pressing marks, stains, and other issues that could affect the finished look.
Yes. We can source fabrics based on your design, target price, color, and required hand feel. For evening dresses, we usually check drape, weight, stretch, lining needs, and surface finish before recommending a fabric. If you already have a swatch, we can also work from it.
Bulk production usually takes 20–30 days after the PP sample is approved and materials are ready. Simple styles can move faster, while dresses with sequins, beading, embroidery, or complex construction may need more time. We confirm the production schedule before placing the bulk order.
Yes. We can work with decorative fabrics and trims, but the production method depends on the actual material and construction. Sequins, lace and beadwork can affect cutting, sewing, pressing and finishing. We normally review these details during sampling so the production method is clear before bulk cutting.
Yes. You can provide your own woven labels, care labels, size labels, hangtags, barcode information and packaging specifications. If you are building a private label collection, it is better to send these requirements during development so the branding details can be checked before bulk production.
For a useful quotation, send your design, expected quantity, fabric preference, colors, size range and any label or packaging requirements you already know. A tech pack is helpful but not essential. If some details are still open, send the available information first and we can identify what needs confirmation.
